Why is that celebrities ALWAYS look so fabulous?

It doesn’t seem to matter if they’re on the red carpet, on social media or out and about running errands, they seem able to stay in shape (even in lockdown).

If you’ve wondered what their secret is (haven’t we all?) then we’ve heard from those in the know that when it comes to diet, there’s one plan in particular that many A-listers rely on to keep them looking their best.

It’s a version of intermittent fasting called ’16:8′, which has become more and more popular with stars on both sides of the Atlantic in recent years.

And it’s an approach to weight loss and weight management that celebrity Nutritional Therapist Gabriela Peacock has been prescribing for her own high profile private clients with huge success.

With famous faces like Rosie Fortescue, Princess Beatrice and Jodie Kidd all coming to Gabriela for advice, it’s clear she knows a thing or two about keeping VIPS feeling and looking incredible.

“I love intermittent fasting as it can fit around my patients’ busy lifestyles and still help them to get results,” she says.

And now Gabriela has created her own take on this style of intermittent fasting with her GP16:8 plan. And the good news? You don’t need to be an A-lister to try it.

In fact, all you have to do is pick up the two week programme and you’ll have everything you need to kickstart a healthy new way of life.

Read on for all the info you need and to find out how it works, but first, one very happy GP16:8 client tells us how it’s changed her life for the better…

“I feel more energised and happy too. My tummy is much flatter now.”

Katherine, 42, from Fulham in London wanted to make a long term change so kickstarted her new lifestyle with the GP16:8 plan.

And she’s already seeing AMAZING  results!

Katherine says she’s now feeling full of energy

“GP16:8 worked really well for me.

“I’ve experienced a bloated tummy for a while now, which was really uncomfortable and quite obvious, especially at the end of the day.

“On GP16:8 I feel more energised and happy too.

“My tummy is much flatter now and I have also lost weight in the process!

“I also felt really supported with the personalised advice from the nutritional therapist and the plan is super easy to follow.

“Thank you!”

The GP16:8 plan will help you eat more mindfully

Introduction to intermittent fasting

You will no doubt have heard of intermittent fasting.

The 16:8 approach is less about what you eat and more about when you eat, incorporating daily periods of fasting into your routine. It works really well for those who want to keep things simple without constant calorie counting.

The thinking is that during the times when you’re fasting, the body can begin to use fat stores for energy, instead of the glucose stores which come from our daily food intake.

The 16:8 schedule…

+ Start eating whenever works best for you during the day

+ You then have 8 hours to consume all your meals for that day

+ Once the 8 hours is up, your 16 hour fasting window begins

+ You’ll be fasting whilst you’re asleep meaning there’s between 8-10 hours of your fast when you don’t have to think about it!

+ Whether you’re an early bird and your ‘Eating Window’ is from 10am – 6pm, or you prefer to skip breakfast and eat between 12pm and 8pm, the GP16:8 kit is designed to fit around your lifestyle so you can reap the benefits of intermittent fasting in a way that suits you.

Proponents of fasting believe it can help trigger bodily repair and rejuvenation, as well as protect against the negative side effects of being overweight.

Famously the 5:2 and 4:3 plans alternate full days of eating normal quantities with full days of reduced calorie intake (around 500 calories) a.k.a ‘fasting’, but the 16:8 intermittent fasting plan is different.

16:8 is all about eating and fasting ‘windows’. So you consume all your meals within an eight hour window and then fast for the remaining 16 hours, preferably overnight into the morning of the next day.

Simple!

“The 16:8 method of intermittent fasting involves consuming all your calories in an 8 hour ‘Eating Window’” explains Gabriela. “It’s great for those who don’t want to count calories.

“I tell my patients to eat mindfully and focus on getting a protein with each meal, some green veg and quality carbohydrates.

“I’ve used the 16:8 method of intermittent fasting myself before a vacation. I find it helps me to feel my best on the beach.”
